Lone Butte – Wycliffe

Plan to meet at the church at 9am.

Hike description:

Walk through open rolling grasslands past South Butte. Gradually descend through a cool and shady forest, cross Luke Creek at the bottom of a deep gully. Then make the final climb to Lone Butte to enjoy lunch and the view. This trail is considered a moderately easy trail.

• Distance: 10 km
• Cumulative elevation gain: 363 meters
• Approximate hiking time: 3 to 3.5 hours
• Trails are dirt, sand and rock – easy walking with some hill climbing
• Bring: Water, lunch and a smile
