Duane Yearous
Duane is a long time Cranbrook resident having moved to the area in 1972. He and his now late wife, Theresa, were gloriously saved in 1977 through the efforts of next-door neighbours. Work requirements took him to the Elk Valley in 1979 where he was president of the Full Gospel Business Men’s chapter, taught adult Sunday school in the Fernie Salvation Army and supported local ministries by guest speaking for other churches and the Full Gospel Business Men’s. All this while working full time and raising two young children. (He was younger then.)
After returning to Cranbrook in 1983 Duane was active in local Charismatic fellowships and volunteered at the local ACE Christian school as time permitted, until settling into the Cranbrook Alliance Church in the late 1990’s.
During the 1990’s Duane was active in Federal, Provincial and local politics as a constituency president, campaign manager, regional director and eventually municipal candidate.
Duane, along with Jackie Blair, lead an ALPHA group at the Cranbrook Alliance Church in the early 2000’s. As a result of this “chance” meeting they have been happily married since 2007.
He retired in 2018 from the B.C. Lottery Corporation where he worked as an electronics technician and Casino representative.
